Who is Green Pastures & Still Waters Ministries?

 

Jaime Martinez has been the Director of Men's Ministry at River City Church since 2016. During that time he has been able to take men on fishing and hunting expeditions to share his passion for the outdoors.  Jaime has vivid memories as a child of hunting and camping trips with his father- there is something special about being able to unplug and connect with nature while creating life-long memories.  In this day and age of technology, it is so important for us to get unplugged and away from the daily grind and out into nature where we can quiet our minds to hear from GOD.  Jaime has found great joy in introducing Men and Children to hunting and fishing and has found it easy to use nature as a tool to also share his faith with them.  He has also found that a lot of people have been hurt by churches in the past, or they feel like they don't meet the "qualifications" of typical churches.  The outdoors provides a safe place for those wounded by the church to come and build a personal relationship with God.

GPSW was an idea that Jaime shared with his pastor back in 2018, and that idea was finally formalized into a legal 501c3 non-profit in 2022. Green Pastures & Still Waters held its first event in 2023 - The First Annual Father Son + Man Camp in Colorado.

• GPSW provides outdoor activities that point the underserved and unreached individuals to our Lord and Savior. 

• GPSW provides a safe place for individuals and families to build a personal relationship with God, our Creator.

• GPSW provides outdoor opportunities that can be out of reach for most people, while also introducing them to Jesus Christ.

There are a lot of organizations that do good for the community; they may even use some biblically-based strategies and techniques. However, these organizations never share the Gospel with those they serve.  GPSW believes that Jesus is the only one that can redeem, heal and comfort the lost and broken hearted.  GPSW is a Christian organization built on the foundation of the one true God - Jesus Christ!  We strive to equip people with the skills necessary to walk with God for a lifetime & into eternity.
